Workshop at Pictoplasma
Last week I had the pleasure of taking part in the Open House at Silent Green with Faces Faces Faces • Paper Cuts, a collaborative drawing activity created together with Pictoplasma.
This was my first collaboration with Pictoplasma, and I’m very happy and grateful to have had the opportunity and space to host this workshop.
Throughout the afternoon, visitors of all ages joined in to create playful faces using colorful customized paper shapes. The room stayed full the entire time, with so many people and children stopping by to draw, experiment, and contribute freely during the event.
What I enjoy about paper-cuts is its simplicity and versatility. Because it’s a dry technique, it can easily be used in many different contexts where painting is not possible. The papers can be customized, or you can work directly with colored cardboard. Shapes can be cut or even torn, allowing for spontaneous and intuitive compositions.
One of the highlights was The Big Face wall — a collective artwork built piece by piece by many different hands. Seeing individual drawings come together into one large collaborative face was spontaneous, chaotic, and full of personality.
It was wonderful to share such an open and joyful drawing experience and to see how simple shapes and colors could spark creativity, interaction, and connection between strangers.
I hope to travel more and collaborate with other festivals, meeting people who are curious and eager to experiment and have fun. I really enjoy organizing workshops and seeing how much effort people put into the process, fully embracing the experience.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by and drew with me and the Squishy Wobbly friend.
