Drawing Nights Berlin
We believe that creativity can be fuelled by sharing ideas and inspiration , good conversations and new networks. Participants will have the opportunity to develop skills and competencies in drawing and sketching. The event is organized and curated by Elenia Beretta, co-founder of the project, who puts dedication, passion, and continuous effort into making each gathering a meaningful experience, fostering a community where creativity thrives.
Over time, we have offered and continue to offer different types of activities, the basis being drawing, which ranges in technique and experience. The events are for everyone who is interested in drawing, painting and other creative techniques. The guests don’t need special skills to be part of the sessions.
The project is constantly evolving, and part of this development is also about creating opportunities to host fellow artists and creative professionals, both from Berlin and from abroad. In the past, we have welcomed artists such as Cynthia Alonso, Marianna Coppo and Giovanni Colaneri, and we look forward to inviting many more artists and collaborators in the future.
The Drawing Nights project travelled and adapted for a series of collaborations, workshops, team-building, laboratories and drawing activities. The proposals range from drawing events to specific workshops such as rice-printing, collage and handmade brushes. In 2023, Drawing Night collaborated with In-between Nature for a series of workshops in nature.
We believe in the power of community, cultural, social and creative exchange. This is why we hold and host these workshops as an integral artistic, mindful and familial experience.
Since 2017, Drawing Nights Berlin has built and expanded a large online and local community through artistic practices. We aim to provide a creative environment with our workshops and the possibility to connect with people through creativity.
Starting from November 2026, Drawing Nights will take on a new shape. The project will evolve from a regular drawing night into an incubator for different workshops, events and creative proposals.
The new home will be Elenia’s studio, a more intimate space that allows for smaller groups, greater access to materials, and a more comfortable and personal environment. Located in the heart of Neukölln, Berlin.
There will be different formats:
Drawing Nights — creative drawing events organised in blocks of four weekly sessions.
Intensive Workshops — one or two day workshops exploring different themes, including drawing, picture books and writing.
Long Courses — longer courses focused on specific techniques and creative practices, such as an exploration of gouache.
The aim is to create a flexible space where drawing, experimentation, storytelling and different creative practices can meet and develop.

The classic format of Drawing Nights:
Every session begins with a thematic focus, where participants engage in timed tasks designed to stimulate their creativity. Following this, we conduct a thorough review of the work produced, facilitating discussions and offering advice as necessary. In addition to showcasing our own work as examples to enrich our discussions. Furthermore, we encourage participants to share their own creations, whether from sketchbooks or other handmade works, fostering an environment of inspiration and mutual learning.
The duration of the event may vary from 1.5 hours to 4.5 hours depending on the content and context in which it is organized. Our typical session begins with a brief warm-up exercise followed by 2-3 tasks, with intermittent meetings between tasks to introduce and discuss the next exercise. However, we maintain flexibility in our approach. Whether you prefer timed, rapid sketching rounds to warm up as a group or extended collaborative work in pairs.
We embrace a diverse range of skill levels and artistic styles, recognizing that each participant brings a unique perspective to our events. Whether you’re a seasoned professional or an enthusiastic hobbyist, there’s something valuable to gain from every attendee. While some participants may astound you with their exceptional results, others, especially those with limited experience, may encounter challenges. However, we believe that this diversity fosters a rich learning environment where everyone can inspire and support one another on their creative journey.
Based in Berlin, our project loves to travel and collaborate worldwide. Drawing Nights acts as a creative crossover, bridging the world of professional drawing sectors outside the arts, such as corporate business, technology, and local community development. We believe that creative workshops are powerful tools for anyone to explore fresh concepts, spark innovation, and foster genuine social connection.
Over the years, we have brought this approach to international festivals like Pictoplasma and Fusion Festival, industry brands like Samsung IFA and Modulor, educational hubs like FilmArche Film Academy, and corporate teams like Kayak, alongside various neighbourhood organizations and independent art studios.
