During a suspended moment in time, I began to explore painting as an opportunity to set aside the narrative dimension that usually guides my work as an illustrator. The series of works on display takes the form of a collection of desserts, prepared like recipes, carefully measured and layered with paint. These paintings reflect not only the complexity of the creative process, but also a critical look at the society we live in.

We live in an era marked by insatiable voracity, a ravenous society that constantly pushes us toward abundance and opulence. This relentless craving for “more” shows up in many aspects of daily life, feeding a never-ending cycle of consumption and desire.

Finepasto is a still, quiet account of an act of care, directed toward myself and toward others—a gesture of protection, not defense, for the feelings of joy and sorrow that come with the presence or absence of a loved one.
